Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden ~ Tickets on Sale Now!
Wednesday, April 11: Paul Smith, PhD: Can botanic gardens conserve all of the world’s rare and threatened plant species?
With his career of 25 years of conservation work, Paul Smith joined Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) as Secretary General in 2015. Formerly the former Head of Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank (MSB), during his nine years at the helm, MSB conserved seeds from more than 25,000 plant species. Paul also promoted seed banks as a resource for human innovation, adaptation, and resilience, and, today, MSB and partner seed banks use seeds in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and habitat restoration.
Lectures begin at 7pm at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in the Peacock Pavilion. Please visit cincinnatizoo.org for information on our program, speakers, and to order tickets.
