ERGC May Meeting and Plant Swap

  • 05/16/2023
  • 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
  • St John's UCC

Registration is closed

This month, our monthly meeting will be focused on ensuring we are all prepared for the Garden Walk scheduled for June 3rd and 4th.  As a result, there will not be a speaker scheduled.  But we will have a Plant Swap!

As you are working on your gardens over the next couple of weeks, set aside any "extra" plants you may be thinning out, you no longer want, or that are getting too large and need to be split. Other members may love to have them!  And you may be able to get some plants from another member that would work for you!

HOW IT WORKS:
  • Please bring your thinned out plants in individual containers. Butter tubs or old plastic containers or whatever you have.
  • Each container ought to have the name of the plant labeled on it in pen. (we will have post-it notes and pens available)
  • If you know, you may also bring basic directions for just how to care for the plant.
  • We will collect and display the plants in the meeting room at St. Johns.  Please bring them in clean boxes or bags.
  • We will provide one "ticket" for each and every plant you bring. For instance, bring 10 plants to give away, obtain 10 tickets.

  • After the meeting we will have social time and you can use your ticket to select any other plants you may want for your garden.
  • If you don't have a need for more plants, you can donate your ticket to the pool so that someone else who may not have a plant to share and needs some, can use your ticket.

At the end of the event, the goal is to provide new plants to gardeners to appreciate in their own gardens, as well as to have gotten rid of old ones they no longer need.
