CANCELLED DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS
Spring Grove Walking Tour guided by Director of Horticulture Dave Gressley
NOTE NEW TIME: 5:30 pm (Entrance gates will lock at 6 pm.)
Join Dave Gressley for a walking tour of Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, which features a 750-acre garden that serves as an incredibly beautiful horticultural educational facility for Greater Cincinnati. Feel free to ask historic- and garden-related questions on the tour, which will last 1.5 to 2 hours. Spring Grove was established in 1845. Ten years later, Adolph Strauch, a renowned landscape architect, transformed what was swampland into a “cemetery garden” by setting limits on private enclosures and monument heights, and designing open landscapes with lakes and clusters of trees and shrubs.
Address: 4521 Spring Grove Avenue
Enter through the main gate; parking is on the right. Gates will lock at 6 pm. When leaving, instead of going out the main gate, which will be locked, we will exit through the automated gate alongside the main funeral home. From the parking area, cross over the main drive and follow the tan line to the funeral home gate. Restrooms are in the Customer Service Center foyer and available before the tour.
