Date: April 20, 2021
Speaker: Scott Beuerlein, “Zoo’s Best Plants for Pollinators”
Who doesn’t love sustainable, beautiful and reliable plants? Especially those considered the “best of the best” for pollinating. In April, Scott Beuerlein, manager of Botanical Garden Outreach at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, will introduce, in a lively program, the Zoo’s top-rated annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees that will provide diversity to your garden and contribute to our important, ongoing ecosystem. According to Scott, “the more we garden for the benefit of pollinators, the more our gardens and landscapes benefit ourselves, our neighbors, and our communities.” Scott is heavily involved in operating the Zoo’s Botanical Garden educational programs and plant trial programs including the Zoo’s Best Plants for Pollinators brand. In 2019, he was awarded gold medals by Garden Communications International and the “Building Community Award” from the Civic Garden Center of Cincinnati.
