The Lloyd Library is a botanical treasure. It was started by John Uri, Ashley, and Curtis Lloyd, three brothers, who had a pharmaceutical company in Cincinnati at the turn of the 20th century. The Library holds, acquires, preserves, and provides access to both historic and current books and journals, as well as archival materials on a wide variety of disciplines that fall under the following subjects: natural history, botany, pharmacy, medicine, and natural science history.
Our visit will include an introduction to the Library and its collections, a discussion of the Lloyds and their business, and a display of materials that will be of particular interest to the group. The Lloyd Library was the 2009 recipient of the Best Hidden Museum in Cincinnati, awarded by Cincinnati Magazine.
Attendees may park in the city lot between the Lloyd library and City Hall, which can be accessed from either Plum St. or 9th St. Parking passes will be available on site beginning at 6:00. If you already have a parking pass for this meeting, please bring it with you.
Note that there is no food or libation for this meeting.
